Summary: This is an intimate, honest portrayal of a woman with a significant disability as she grapples with the lifelong issues of self-worth, sexuality, family value, relationships, and motherhood.
Project Description: I am beginning to develop a curriculum based on the book with the goal a teaching workshops around the country for disabled girls and women, as well as people in the disability studies field.
Empowerment of disabled women and girls: I help them explore and identify their own issues in relation to the book text. I present a role model with all the quirks for comparison and contrast.
