ELA Foundation

Summary: We are here to change the face of disability on the planet especially as it relates to women and girls. We give funding to programs that enable women and girls to enhance their education and training as well as promoting the work of artists with disabilities.

Project Description: We give scholarships to women pursuing a degree in higher education through the President's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities. We give grants to organizations that promote the work of women and girls such as the Ohio Women with Disabilities network, The University of Southern Maine career program for girls with disabilities, The Women's Y in Wichita Texas, the California Task Force on Women, Disabilities and Health, Mobility International, The San Francisco Women's Centers, and Whirlwind Women. We have supported the work of artists with disabilities through organizations run by women with disabilities including Other Voices, Dance Detour, Light Motion, and CandoCo.

Empowerment of disabled women and girls: By promoting their work, and enabling them to receive education and training to achieve the next step in their development.
