Research on Issues Concerning Women with Disabilities

Summary: The project is a study of the various issues like sexuality, health, education, representation of girls and women with disabilities in India.

Project Description: I am trying to understand the multifaceted problems confronting my fellow disabled women to draw the attention of Government and in particular the media , so that some interventions could be planned.

Empowerment of disabled women and girls: We try to have regular meetings twice a month and focus attention by having focused group discussions, role-play and listening to the narratives of women and girls concerned.

Annual budget: $500

Project duration: Six months

Main funding challenge: No one is interested in funding disability issues specially the ones concerning women.
