Campaigns in the United States
Veterans
During the Spanish Civil War (1936-39), 2,800 American volunteers took up arms to defend the Spanish Republic against a fascist military rebellion. Members of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade fought alongside approximately 35,000 antifascists from 52 countries. Over the course of the war over one third of the Americans who fought lost their lives. These items are examples of fundraising efforts to assist the American casualities.
